The Beginning

This is not the beginning. But it is not the end. It's not in the middle either, because we have yet to start. This is not a dream but a work in progress my friend. When will it end? I cannot say. It will be long until the vision fades away so I will call it The Beginning.

I've been working for two years to create a video game portal that allows for the gamers' competitive spirit to flourish. Before then, I was a university student, living in a dorm room, I spent countless months in 2002 putting together a plan to launch this video game portal which I called 'Gaming Pal'.

Project Gamingpal, has been renamed to Titan Strike and will be home to a new but growing baby in this web 2.0 realm. You and I have heard it all before, Web 2.0 this and Web 2.0 that, but have we really ever seen it? Yes sure, there are sites that let you rate things and you can see them in real time, there are sites that let you make graphic images on the fly without loading a new page. But that's like telling me that an Image Processing program is special because I don't need to reboot the computer. Come on I thought, there has to be better, there has to be the best.

So again, I put together a development team. I learnt from my shortcomings in the summer of 2004 when I put the portal together with a few grad students from McGill.

We brought together a new development team and started hacking at the video game portal. It was really catching our eyes. Mark Donovan brought his management skills to the table and we filled up the tank with jet fuel. It was etching out to be a product that we could be proud of and snowball with.

This video game portal would be different I told everyone. It will be better than anything out there I would yell in my sleep. I would build it, if it didn't work this time, I would try again. This is what I wanted to do and no one would stop me.

I'll keep you guys posted, it's going to be nooice, real noiiice.

Keep it real

UPDATE: Mark and I just (Dec/06) closed an angel round of funding and are working full-time to develop this vision into a reality.
